Diva Madonna as she is known to her fashion clients and customers, is the Jamaican born celebrity stylist and business woman, who is now charged with creating styling magic for the newly revised Dancehall Divas reality show.
Fresh from massive cast changes and production shuffle, the popular reality show Dancehall Divas is resurrecting its identity and concept and throwing in some heavyweight experts behind the show. Madonna who is no stranger to dancehall made her way from the tenement of a Jamaican garrison to some of the biggest red carpets in the United States. Easily considered one of Dancehall and Reggae’s most elite awards shows, Madonna was the brains behind the once coveted IED awards event held yearly in New York City. Counting clients from some top rated reality TV shows and influential fashionistas alike, Madonna has gradually perfected her skills as stylist in a very organic way. There is nothing ordinary or mundane about Williams. She credits Christian Sirano among her style inspiration and just like him, she loves dramatic over the top entrances and fashion that speaks to the creatively open minded lovers of fashion, who look at style as art. She is keen not to criticize other people’s fashion, but instead appreciate their individuality and the message they try to convey. She believes there’s a story behind every look. It’s for this reason why the producers are banking on Madonna to help create a style narrative for the show that will bring the castmembers and their colorful stories to life. Madonna cites that the fashion in the show will be as impactful as its content and that’s part of what will make Dancehall Divas a stand out.
Dancehall fashion is radical and loud and non-conforming and Madonna plans to capitalize on that. With nine castmembers of different styles and personalities left in her hands, she plans to help shape their style and fashion to be as much about who they are now as who they want to be. This approach to her styling is in everything that the respected style doyenne practices for herself and is in line with her motto; a very cliche term — ‘why blend in when you can stand out’. Madonna loves to describe her own personal sense of style as Glam, Fabulous and Fearless.
