An almost unbearable heatwave gripped the United States and some other parts of the world over the last ten days and experts are saying that for some cities in the U.S., it was their hottest period on record. It’s bad enough that you are thinking about your rising energy bills , but imagine losing air during this time.

The first thing you will need to do is get a standard low cost fan. You will need lots of ice or home made ice bags (place water in freezer bags and freeze) as well as frozen bottles of water. Simply put whichever of the recommended frozen items in a bowl and place it directly in front of the fan. It is best to put the items in a container and ensure its at the same level as the cooling blades. If it’s a standing fan, you will need to hoist the frozen items onto something tall enough to be at the same height as the cooling blades. This is a great low cost cooling alternative when you are on a tight budget and especially when you have elderly folks or young children in the home.
